I have my own domain name, and the site is hosted by uh-hosting, on a Unix box running Apache, PHP, MySQL etc…
the blog is powered by the easy to use and fantastically powerful WordPress; plugins in use include Geo, Geo Mashup & WPG2 (see below)
the photo gallery is running with Gallery2, another amazing (and free) piece of software
WordPress and Gallery2 are integrated using the WPG2 plugin
the overall appearance is adapted from the Connections theme by Peter Near, design from www.vanillamist.com
the Geo Mashup plugin which runs the ‘Where in the world?‘ post map itself uses Google Maps API.
