I have my own domain name, and the site is hosted by uh-hosting, on a Unix box running Apache, PHP, MySQL etc…
the blog is powered by the easy to use and fantastically powerful WordPress; plugins in use include Geo Mashup, BookmarkMe, Akismet, TwitterTools, Powerhouse Museum Collection Image Grid, Google XML Sitemaps, Contact Form 7 etc
the overall appearance is currently using the deFusion theme by webdemar but that is subject to change!
the Geo Mashup plugin which runs the ‘Where in the world?‘ post map itself uses Google Maps API.
