Portrait of family group including "Archie, Frank & Maggie" Dickson? dated 10 January 1882, from mystery album
It seems clear that Archie and Frank here are the same children named with the surname Dickson on other photographs in this album. This is the only appearance of "Maggie", so perhaps she died in infancy? The other thing that intrigues me about this photograph is that it is the ony one which shows, I presume, the Dickson parents. From the 1891 Scottish census only the mother is recorded, so did the father die? Was he in the military?
For a summary of all the information and images I have gathered relating to the Dickson family see http://www.whatsthatpicture.com/?q=node/78

One of 140 images from a fascinating album. For more information see the full set
From 26-28 February I will be in the Truprint Photography Gallery at the Who Do You Think You Are? Live event at London’s Olympia. In the run up to that event, and with the help of show visitors over the three days, my aim is to use this album as an example of how Flickr, and the wider web community, can help identify these mystery, orphaned photograhs.
Just how many of these images can we identify, and what can we find out about the people they portray?

I agree with your comments there, and had had the same thought about her possibly dying. I wonder where I could trace any records for this? Of course there is equal chance, if she did die, that it could have been in Burma or Scotland.

The oldest child here must be Archie, and the one of c. 18 months must be Frank. So the baby of about 6 months or less must be Maggie. Maybe she died in childhood (before 1891).
